Seventh Annual Halloween Parade – October 2011, a community service project.  Children were dressed up in Halloween Costumes and brought smiles to the Residents at Wachusett Manor Nursing Home in Gardner, MA.  This activity begins by contacting the activities director at the Nursing Home in early September.  A date is chosen during Halloween week.  The nursing home provides the treats for the children which are handed out by the residents during the “parade”.  After the parade we go to a member's house for a small party afterwards.

Coats for Kids – November and December 2010-2011.  MOMS held a used coat drive at November and Decembers Membership Circle.  We were able to make a generous donation of gently used coats to Burlington Coat Factory.  These coats are collected free of charge, cleaned, and redistributed to men, women and children who would be without a warm coat during our brutal winter season.

Holiday Cards to Nursing Home Residents, December 2011. The children decorated holiday greeting cards at membership circle and they were delivered to residents at Wachusett Manor Nursing Home in Gardner, MA.

Seventh Annual Adopt-A-Family Holiday Service Project – December 2011.  This year, our group coordinated with North Central Human Services to locate a family that was in need.  We were able to provide a family with 6 children as well as their parents with gifts to brighten their Holiday season.  In addition to the MOMS that help by donating gifts, others helped with wrapping and delivering the gifts to the family.

Heart Awareness Month – February 2011.  With heart disease being the leading cause of death in the US, MOMS were encouraged to make healthy choices to keep their heart healthy.  In February’s Newsletter, we included a heart healthy recipe as well as linked them to more information to prevent heart disease.

Gardner CAC Food Drive – April 2011.  MOMS were given a food item wish list to help out our local food pantry.  We were able to fill 5 shopping bags full of items and the Gardner CAC sent a thank you card expressing how thankful they were for our generous donations.

Teddy Bear Drive – June 2011.  During June’s Membership Circle, MOMS were encouraged to donate gently used stuffed animals to help in the Teddy Bear Project.  http://teddybearprojectm.blogspot.com/  These animals are passed out to residents in nursing homes by a therapy dog named Stacey Mae.  Many MOMS donated and we were able to send a large box of stuffed animals.

American Cancer Society Relay for Life – June 2011.  This is MOMS third year participating.  The Relay for Life is a fundraising opportunity for The American Cancer Society.  It gives survivors as well as donators a chance to walk a track for a 24 hour period, to help raise awareness as well as funds to help in cancer research.  Our team consisted of 11 members.  We coordinated a fundraiser at Papa Gino’s were a percentage of their total food sales was donated to our team.  Our team was able to raise $2915.49.

Maternity Closet - Our chapter runs our Maternity Closet selling gently used maternity clothing donated by our members for $2 per article to raise money for the Mother-to-Mother fund of the International Moms Club. The Mother-to-Mother fund is our International MOMS Club charity to help members who experience devastating financial and natural disasters. Each chapter helps to donate for this important cause.  The Mother-to-Mother fund is MOMS offering MOMS support to its fullest!
